Summary
Liu and Sen (2010) proposed an efficient hybrid scheme to absorb boundary reflections for acoustic wave modeling in time domain that could attain nearly perfect absorptions. This scheme introduces weighted averaging of wave field in a transition area, between inner area and the model boundaries. In this paper, we extend the hybrid absorbing boundary condition into frequency domain and then perform the viscous acoustic wave forward modeling by using the finite differences. Numerical modeling results of viscous acoustic wave equation show significant absorptions, which demonstrates the effectiveness of this scheme for frequency domain modeling.
