In order to apply interferometry to field data, we found that in the presence of additive noise, the Cross Coherence performs better than Cross Correlation and Deconvolution approach. We have compared as the application of Cross Correlation (Wapenaar and Fokkema, 2006), Deconvolution (Vasconcelos and Snieder, 2008), and Cross Coherence in interferometry to retrieve Green''s function that accounts for wave propagation between two receivers. Interferometry by Cross Correlation is a simple method to extract the Green''s function. Interferometry by Deconvolution removes the source wavelet because of employed spectral division. Because these two methods both have advantages and disadvantages, there is no objective way to decide which method is best in the practical applications, and the ultimate choice depends on the characteristics of the data. These two methods, however, do not perform well when the data is noisy and the trace amplitude is not balanced.
