ABSTRACT

High quality 4D seismic shot in 2008 over the Alba field allows us to estimate the remaining oil thickness from 4D amplitudes. This is used to modify planned wells and reduce risk for new production and water injection wells. The 4D allows better vertical positioning of horizontal wells using the areal information of 2008 oil-water contact (OWC) and top sand. Further, the 4D data also shows time-shifts across the reservoir that matches injector and producer locations.
