ABSTRACT

The near-surface structures in different areas have different properties, and the methods of static corrections and technical measures used in these areas must be different too. We have carried out studies on static corrections in complex areas, such as mountains, foothill belts, deserts, hills and loess plateau for several years. We proposed a set of new technical ideas and methods such as model-constrained first break inversion, intermediate reference datum, etc., conducted application-oriented studies of tomographic static corrections and adopted the joint application of multiple static corrections methods in different kinds of areas. Application of these new methods and measures further improved the precision of static corrections and increased our technical competence of seismic exploration in complex areas of Western China.
