Summary
This paper presents a crosshole radar conductivity tomography method. It reconstructs the conductivity image using the ratio of two electrical field intensities observed at same geometry configuration but with different radiation frequencies. The method avoids the calculation of the radiation pattern and primary radiation intensity of the transmitting antenna. The conditions the method work are also discussed in the paper. It is especially suitable for high-conductivity media (> 0.01 S/m) and 0.1~100 MHz frequency case. For field applications, we use an improved algebraic reconstruction algorithm to solve the matrix equations and have obtained excellent results.
