Bohai A gas field is the largest Archean buried hill condensate gas field discovered in Bohai. One of the key points in the exploration of this gas field is the prediction of fracture development area. Based on the basic theory of seismic wave propagation, according to the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of diffraction wave in post stack seismic data, this paper puts forward a set of technological process of extracting residual diffraction wave information based on principal component analysis. The residual diffracted wave attribute is used to describe the plane distribution of fractured reservoir. This method has achieved good application effect in Bohai A oilfield, and successfully guided the well location deployment and deepening drilling in the exploration process of this oilfield.
