The demand for corrosion-resistant subsea pipelines drives the use of mechanically lined pipes, valued for cost-efficiency and compatibility with the reel-lay installation method. However, these bimetallic or trimetallic pipes require new approaches to nondestructive examination and engineering critical assessment to ensure their integrity during installation and service.
