Abstract
Well barrier integrity testing is key to protecting people, environment, and a company's reputation and bottom line. However, critical well integrity testing is impacted by criteria and analysis selection in a way not typically considered which introduces significant risk to well integrity assurance.
Accepting testing of key components used to validate well integrity must be consistent for all components in a test system. A simple example is testing a BOP system to a criteria that is less stringent than a test conducted on a packer, where components of the BOP are part of the overall pressure containment system. More concerning is using varying test methodologies or methodologies lacking specific criteria assurance.
