Every effort has been tried for the reduction of sloshing impact loading to the LNG Cargo Containment System (CCS). And, a new type of floating mat system is recently considered for the further sloshing reduction to mitigate the sloshing impact loading in partial filling of the LNG CCS. In this study, model scale sloshing tests are carried out with partial filled tank heights for the comparison of the reduction effects of a new type of floating mat system on the sloshing induced impact loading, and model scale sloshing simulations, using Multi-Material Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (MMALE) formulation and Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) analysis technique of LS-DYNA code. The sloshing response results from model scale sloshing tests are applied to validate the sloshing simulations for the extension of diverse model scale sloshing simulations and full scale ones.
