Abstract

The growing share of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) is causing severe management issues for the operators of Combined Cycle Power Plants, strongly increasing the demand for extremely flexible balancing resources and new services.

Different offering strategies can be adopted by generation operators in the day-ahead electricity market in order to maximize their profit: the best solution will follow the particular auction scenario in term of mix of participants, demand curve characteristics and local regulation constraints.

In this paper, the impact of different generators strategies is shown by specific case studies.
