Abstract

This paper presents a new method for measuring trapped gas saturation which overcomes the problems of the classic methods. The new method combines centrifuge measurements with in-situ saturation monitoring by NMR. We deem it more representative because gas displacement is strictly co-current and diffusion effects are limited and can be corrected for. The data analysis process involves the calculation of two critical Bond number values. The results have been validated by logs.
