North Port Said is an offshore concession located in the Mediterranean Sea about 30 km off the Northern Egyptian coast. More than 25 gas prospects have been identified. These accumulations are often characterized by several hydraulically independent reservoirs. Two gas-condensate fields were discovered by two exploratory wells in 1982 and 1983, finding several gas bearing intervals inside Wakar Formation (Miocene age). Following, further 9 gas fields have been discovered identifying several lean gas bearing intervals inside Kafr El Sheikh Formation (Pliocene age).Port Fouad field was started up in (1996), Darfeel (1997), Nouras (2004), Barboni (2005), Anshuga (2006) and Semman (2007) and currently the concession is producing through 23 wells with about 445 MMScf/d of gas and 7,200 bopd of condensate. In 2002, some Port Foaud wells started to produce sand causing severe problems to the surface facilities and reducing the concession production potential. In 2003, a sand control campaign was undertaken in Port Fouad field to recover the full field capacity and six wells were completed with Expandable Sand Screen. The technique was implemented for the first time in Egypt in well PFM-8 and showed very good production performance with maximum peak reached to 70 MMScf/d of gas and 2,100 bopd of condensate. For Temsah fields, Expandable Sand Screen technique was widely applied in the completion phase (Twelve out of fifteen wells) due to its advantage and high production potential. Well TNW-7R reached to a production peak in all Petrobel gas wells with 90 MMScc/d of gas and 5,400 bopd of condensate, currently the concession is producing from TNW-2, T-4 & Denise platforms with about 810 MMScf/d of gas and 34,000 bopd of condensate. The aim of this paper is to highlight the Expandable Sand Screen technique used in North Port Said & Temsah concessions focusing on successful case histories and its positive impact on production & reservoir potential and the constrain that this system is required
