ABSTRACT:

We present an iterative multiscale deep formation imaging method that is designed for array resistivity well logs. First, it generates an image on a coarse spatial grid, inverting the logs with the lowest resolution. Then at each subsequent step, it refines the image obtained at the previous step, using inversion of logs with a higher resolution. Our method enables stable integration of logs of different resolution power to image fine formations. We present synthetic and field data examples illustrating how the method can be used in practice
