Asphaltene deposition has been the focus of extensive research over the last decades. Modeling asphaltene behaviour is not an easy task, due to the complexity of the fraction under study. EniTecnologie has proposed a model (OCCAM Model) that takes into account the main experimental evidences. The problem observed in the original OCCAM Model is that the solubility parameters of oil and asphaltenes are obtained simultaneously from a single onset flocculation set of experiments. By determining one of them independently, the performance of the model is believed to improve. This work presents the latest improvements implemented in OCCAM model, together with the description of a correlation of the oil solubility parameter with some properties readily available in the PVT report. With this correlation, the model parameters are determined with less experimental work, and in a more reliable way
