ABSTRACT:

The paper describes the current status of the work of ISO TC67 SC7, the remit of which is to produce ISO based standards in the field of offshore structures used in the production and storage of petroleum and natural gas, including procedures for the assessment of site-specific application of mobile offshore drilling and accommodation units. Following over a decade of dedicated effort by E&P engineers, a range of internationally accepted ISO standards are either available or will be available shortly. The paper presents the schedule for delivery of the remaining standards. The paper highlights the importance of ensuring that organisations and individuals involved in the design and assessment of offshore structures begin to become familiar with the new standards, as they are likely to form the basis on which many future offshore structures will be procured
