ABSTRACT:
Introduction of new technology is often an uphill struggle, and specific field requirements will often jump start implementation of promising solutions. This has been the case for the development of subsea electric control and actuator systems. When the operator started to experience increased sand and water production, a retrofitted electric choke actuator system was the solution. New applications for this electric system are discussed in this paper to illustrate a staged implementation of a promising new technology for subsea production systems
