UGIT-Italy Central Operations Center has been providing geologic and stratigraphic while drilling assistance by using digital photography and image capture, generated at well-site, and shared in the ENI Corporate intraned by Power Petrolink Transmission system and e-mail. The procedure is now fully tested and allow a good base for daily discussion on stratigraphic and geologic interpretation, finalized to geological prognosis modification. At the same time, images have been used as integration of lithological data reported in Master Log presentation and for mining data discussion. This procedure, which in low sample reliability conditions (i.e. high speed/PDC bit drilling) represents a valid support to the geologic data acquisition, doesn't require any adjunctive costs and is not time-consuming, thus permitting to diffuse images - completed with a specific geologic/stratigraphic comment - in the Corporate Intranet (Power, Lotus, condivided areas) in less than one hour. The application has been developed in Val d'Agri (Italy) activity and has been recently improved and applied on operations in Italy and on a deep water well of Malta offshore, with mutual satisfaction of the local Authorities and of Division HQ Project Management. The application is commonly used during the stratigraphic assistance in UGIT Italian area and can be readily used and easily applied at any location worldwide.
