ABSTRACT:

The paper looks at problematic issues relating to design of oil and gas field platforms designated for operation under ice, wave, wind and seismic actions on the continental shelf as well as design criteria permitting to take rational design solutions. The paper offers an assessment of how seismicity affects the facility architecture and its structural elements. The paper presents designs of offshore ice-resistance platforms for areas of higher seismicity. Special attention is paid to the design of platforms designated for operation under complicated weather conditions of Russian shelf.
