ABSTRACT:
As far as drilling is concerned, the last years have witnessed the big change, still ongoing, in the availability of innovative technologies that permit to face today's challenge: to be able to provide cost effective solutions for a variety of operating environments. This paper aims at presenting the criteria adopted to design the HH Series Soilmec rig and to illustrate the actual results achieved during a long on-shore field experience. The same criteria can be adopted for off-shore application, with the aim to reduce the working-space, the operating risks and the crew members.
