ABSTRACT:

The Maureen and Moira Oil Fields are located in block 16/29a on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf. Production from the Maureen field commenced in 1983 with a total of 233 million barrels of oil being produced. Production ceased in October 1999. The fields were developed via a steel gravity platform with offshore loading. This paper will provide an overview of how the owners of the licence set about planning the decommissioning the facilities and what progress has been made to date, including some considerations that have been made for the re-use of some or all of the structures.
