ABSTRACT:

The Adriatic off-shore of Ravenna District is characterized by mature reservoirs and marginal fields with low volume in place. Both these conditions take part in turning water production into a primary problem for reservoir management. Solution to these problems allow to properly manage fields with high recovery factor and to honour the more restrictive governative requirements on environment. It is now necessary to reduce the amount of water discharged into the sea and to declare the water volume to be produced in the following years. Moreover the Angela gas field pilot project is presented. It shows the effects of water reinjection in gas producing layers in terms of pressure, saturation and recovery factor. This paper discusses a programmed approach related to the following items of water management:

  • ·

    selection of reservoirs for water re-injection and identification of factors affecting the injection well performances;

  • ·

    identification in the Angela pilot project of the best producing layer candidate for water injection;

  • ·

    evaluation of the recovery factor by using water injection for pressure maintenance.
