Abstract

Corrosion of reinforcements in concrete structures poses one of the major challenges to long-life structures. In order to assess the condition of these structures, corrosion monitoring has been conducted. Under ideal situations, multiple key factors in addition to corrosion, such as chloride concentration, concrete resistivity, relative humidity, temperature and so forth, are also monitored simultaneously at the same locations within the structure. In the present work, several different sensing and measurement systems were used to monitor the effects of different environmental changes on the corrosion of steel in concrete.
