Expressions are presented for the lift and moment coefficients of a thin supercavitating foil performing generalized oscillations, in terms of the coefficients of a power series describing the chordwise amplitude distribution. The lift is in general made up of a circulation term, a pure damping term and an added mass term. The circulation term always acts at 5/10 of a chord length aft of the leading edge while the center of pure damping force and added mass depends on the mode of oscillation. The results are applied to the case of a foil moving through a stationary sinusoidal vertical gust and to that of a rigid foil performing heaving and rotational oscillations.
