During the past ten years the design of wake-adapted propellers according to the circulation theory has proved its practical value. In the generally adopted method of design the Goldstein reduction factors are used [1,2]. These factors have been calculated assuming homogeneous flow and Betz' condition for minimum loss of energy [3, 4]. Therefore, the application of these factors for wake-adapted screws results in approximations.
