SYNOPSIS
A description is given of the planning and the results achievedin an excavation involving large blasting operations in the vicinity of the hydro-electric dam at Villacampo (Spain), and there are details of the blasting control measures which were imposed in order for the vibrations to which the dam was subjected to be kept within acceptable limits.
