Summary
A simulation of an hydraulically conducting medium by an electrical one is the basis of a two dimensional seepage analysis for Itaipu Dam, based on the equivalence of a physical problem with an electrical model.
The main objective of this study was to test the variation of the basic parameters and boundary conditions, as a support for the forthcoming Finite Element Method analysis, of the same model. The electrically conducting medium was represented by a network of printed, resistors on a sheet of insulating paper, in order to solve approximately the governing differential equation through, a finite difference form.
