SUMMARY

This report deals with the studies carried out through laboratory and in situ tests, in order to define foundation parameters for a gravity dam on tectonized claystone, a structurally complex formation in Northern Italy. On the basis of the results obtained, some particular decisions have been adopted, especially regarding grout courtain and drainage system position. An evaluation of the choice of the parameters to be utilized for the calculations, chosen from the wide scattering of the experimental results, is exposed too.
