Summary

The experiences in the field of the development of deformations of jaw bolts used under circumstances of the potash salt-mines of GDR are discussed. It turns out that with regard to the salt mass deformation dependent on time, there is a necessity for adaptation of strain properties of bolts to the properties of rock mass. On the one hand a capacity of the bolt is fully utilized this way, on the other an overload of the bolting is avoided during its required life

In order to adapt the characteristics of bolts to the properties of rock mass it is necessary to choose the bolt head with appropriate initial strains for higher deformability.
