Summary

The nature of the break-down of pit shaft No15 and remedial measures are presented in the introduction of the paper. The method is described for determining the mechanical properties of rocks occurring near the shaft on the basis of a behaviour of rock mass during deformation of the shaft lining. Having determined these data, the particular measures aimed at restoring the stability of the pit shaft were established. In addition, the methods for improvemant of grouting operation to reduce a period of the shaft breakdown are given in brief.
