The purpose of this paper was to try and collect all former explorations on relatively unknown building materials, glacial and fluvioglacial, in the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is reflected in the history of relief formation, its development, and before all in its current natural forming. Considering the extensive material and very large number of factors essential for identification of natural processes, this paper gives emphasis on the investigation of shape and roundness of grains and their position within core of glacial and fluvioglacial material. Interpretation of results of variographic analysis for larger sizes of grains (d1) indicates partial sorting of sediment over depth, which may be due to material segregation during gravitational introduction into sedimentary space
