For the safety design requirement, analysis of the airflow field within LNG ship engine room is necessary. The CFD analysis for equipment within the engine room is a complex calculation problem due to quality and efficiency. This paper provides an easier method to check the design of ventilation system. Species transport model is adopted to simulate methane-air mixture. Several conclusions are given including velocity maps. CFD simulation of ventilation test is proposed here to give out a clearer view of airflow distribution.
