Abstract
According to the equation of continuity and the equation of motion, a formula of water-hammer pressure in lifting pipe is derived. The paper analyzes the water-hammer pressure in the lifting pump's outlet under different operating conditions. The simulated calculation results show that the flow velocity, solid volume concentration and pipe inner diameter have significant impacts on water-hammer pressure. These results can provide references for deep-sea mining system design and safety evaluation.
