The ability of the ocean manganese nodules to treat the ammonia-nitrogen wastewater has been assessed. Factors such as adsorption time, temperature, initial NH4+ concentration, solid to liquid ratio and pH value, were investigated, respectively. The absorption isotherm also was obtained. Under the conditions of temperature 20 °C, time 24 hours, particle size -200 mesh accounting for 82.6%, NH4+ concentration 375.4 mg/L, solid to liquid ratio 100:1 and solution pH 6, the absorption amount of NH4+ on per gram of manganese nodules was up to 20.43 mg.
