Lingshui(17-2 and 25-1) gas field is located in the northern part of Qiongdongnan Basin in the western continental shelf of the northern South China Sea. The paper studies the rigid jumpers’ design and optimization in these Projects, which contain 37 sets of rigid jumpers, 28 sets using vertical connectors in Lingshui17-2, and 9 sets using horizontal connectors in Lingshui25-1. The jumpers’ outside diameters are from 4.5in to 20in, and for 6in, 8in well jumpers; 10in,12in infield jumpers, and 18in and 20in export jumpers, some of them contain 3mm UNS N06625 clad lined. The paper mainly focuses on three points, one is to sum up experience on the difference between jumper with vertical connector and horizontal connector, which has a significant impact on general layout and strength analysis, for a jumper with horizontal connector, which needs a certain stroke length to finish the connector fit-up, and leads to prestressing force left on the jumper before the operation, which is bad for jumper strength and fatigue life. However, the horizontal jumper needs smaller space in vertical, which is good for reducing environmental force and accidental scenarios (eg. trawling & anchor handling). The other is for optimization of the jumper configuration. Except for the subsea the connected structures’ installation tolerances, and also there are several jumpers located around one structure (eg. manifold, SDU, SPLM) which demands the jumper's general layout limit to a small space. For this question, use ANSYS APDL design program, and consider all the tolerance parameters, including the function fluctuations and connected structure install tolerances, this method is used for stress and fatigue life within the design demand, for some jumpers located in limited space, whose projection is very short or compared with the pipeline route is nearly 180 degree with the proposed jumper, the demand jumper configuration is more important within these cases. We use parameter design to find the best configuration. The third point is to focus on the slugging analysis in this project. The objective of the analysis is to assess the potential slugging possibilities in the well and flowline jumpers using OLGA hydraulic analysis, followed by a CFD analysis to estimate the transient loads on the various sections of the well jumper.
