Abstract

Estuarine geomorphology worldwide has greatly changed in the Anthropocene due to intensive human inferences in river basin and within estuary, which has received increasing global concerns. As an ecological protection area in Yangtze River estuary, JDS has been affected by the continuous decrease in the amount of incoming sediment in the river basin in recent years. Using the ECOM hydrodynamic and sediment model, this paper establishes a three-dimensional sediment mathematical model of the Yangtze River Estuary, selects different recharge points for throwing mud and sand, and calculates the spread and fall of the recharged sediment in the JDS area after two tidal cycles with the ebb and flow of sediment transport. And study the impact of the throwing sand in the South Channel. Studies have shown that using the method of dumping mud to increase sand sources for beach protection on the JDS beach, artificially increase the amount of source of sand from JDS and JYNS to alleviate the river regime problems of beach erosion and channeling development is useful.

The study shows the different 3 area to throw the mud, when throwing mud at the end of the JDS, the inner side of the ecological red line, and the channeling area of the JYNS which along the south of JDS, the sediment utilization effect is better. Sand is thrown at the tail of JDS, and the sediment is mainly distributed in the +2~0m contour of the JDS tail, the trajectory of sediment transport is belt-shaped, and the sediment is mainly distributed in the 0~5m contour of the JYNS sand channel , Has a certain effect on the development of channeling groove. After throwing mud at the end of the JDS which is the outside of the ecological red line, the mud spreads in South channel is 12.03%. After throwing mud at the end of the JDS which is the inside of the ecological red line, the mud spreads in South Channel is 0.27%. After throwing mud at the channeling area of the JYNS which along the south of JDS, the mud spreads in South channel is 0.86%. Choosing the JDS tail and JYNS tail within the ecological redline has relatively good effect, and has less impact on the South Channel.
