Abstract
In this study, two case histories performing the deep excavations in weak soils near shore area are introduced. Our concern of the deep excavation in this weak soil area was finding the proper excavation methods to keep the pressure of the soil and groundwater and to solve the possible problems which may occur during the excavation. This study will discuss the related problems occurred in the real excavation and the in-situ counter measures. The field excavation behaviors are measured and compared with the predicted values in the design stage. This paper would be a good reference for the similar cases of deep excavation in the weak soils with high groundwater level.
