ABSTRACT
In this paper, an experimental study on sloshing problems in an independent B-type tank of STX Offshore and Shipbuilding Co. is introduced. A series of sloshing model tests have been carried out for a 1/50 scale model. The properly scaled internal members have been installed in the test tank model, but sloshing pressures are measured only on the tank walls. The forced excitation signals have been generated by using the predicted ship motion in irregular sea states. The impact pressures are quantified for different filling conditions and wave conditions. In this paper, the observation results are summarized and some key findings from the model tests are discussed.
