ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to develop a way of simulating regular wave motion by the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method. The foundational theory of SPH in this case was discussed, and methods for resolution of the governing equation and some key numerical techniques are given. The behaviors of regular wave propagating in the flume and running up the submerged breakwater are simulated numerically. The results show that the free surface elevations at various gauging points are in good agreement with analytical solutions and experimental data from literature.
