ABSTRACT
Mooring Integrity Management of Floating Production Units (FPU) is a key issue. It is difficult to quantify the level of conservatism that is supposedly embodied in the various available Design Guidance to design against extreme squall events. The proposed approach is somewhat similar to that applied by civil engineers to design against earthquake as it is proposed to model the response of the FPU by a stochastic model.
