ABSTRACT

In this paper, numerical simulations of the behavior of a single Taylor bubble flowing in a spool are presented. The numerical simulations were performed by Fluorem, using SC/Tetra, the Cradle Software code. The physical experiments used to validate the simulations upstream the spool were acquired in Boussens oil & gas laboratory by TOTAL and co-workers. The simulation of the Taylor bubble flow in the spool enables to determine the pressure distributions in the elbows.
