ABSTRACT

As part of the development of the super-giant Shtokman gas field in the Barents Sea, two discretization methods were introduced for the multiphase flow simulation of the 550km-long dry-two-phase gas export pipeline to shore. First, both methods are described in details, with an illustrative application to the Shtokman case. Then, in-depth validation is performed through steady-state flow simulations. The sensitivity to dynamic simulation is also addressed.
