ABSTRACT
This paper presents experiments on air/water flows in a 14m long test pipe. Many different flow rates, liquid fractions and pipe inclinations relevant for transport of unprocessed gas were investigated.
The flow regimes were determined from visual observations. The time averaged cross-sectional distributions of liquid and gas were measured with a traversable gamma densitometer. Local velocity profiles and turbulence profiles in the vertical plane through the pipe center were measured using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). Gamma and PIV measurements were not done at flows in the slug flow regime.
