Systematic calculations have been done in order to analyze the response of a medium with a hilly surface to explosions created below the ground surface when a cavity can be present. Random surfaces with a given correlation function are studied. The influence of the roughness and of the correlation length of the surface fluctuations is analyzed on the signal reflected by the cavities.
