ABSTRACT

: The parabolic crack-tip element code of two-dimensional displacement discontinuity methods (2D DDM) with pure analytical integration of influence coefficients, TWOTIP, is developed. The influence function of the non-linear element integration and its derivatives, which previously calculated by certain numerical method, can be expressed in closed form by computer algebraic manipulation in this paper. The advantages of this program, i.e., accurate and fast, is verified by estimating Stress Intensity Factor (SIF) KI and KII efficiently. Furthermore, the idea of combining algebraic manipulation and numerical calculation in developing various boundary element codes is put forward.
