ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In some Rock Engineering projects the stability of rock blocks is the main failure scenario. The relevant parameters required to study the stability of a rock block can be divided in two groups (geometrical and mechanical). The definition of such parameters is subjected to several kinds of uncertainties that lead to the need of using probabilistic approaches in geo-engineering. This paper deals with the determination of the statistical distributions that can be used to model these parameters.
