ABSTRACT: The RPR method for the doorstopper is a new concept in stress measurement interpretation models, as it allows to estimate an extra stress component by using the strain recovery curve geometry. This paper explains the principle on which the RPR method is based and reports the latest developments related to it. Results from laboratory stress measurement simulations allow the validation of the method and field measurement results using the RPR method are compared to results obtained with the CSIR triaxial cell.
