ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: This paper presents numerical modelings of dessaturation around an underground cavity sub- mitted to moisture variations. Variations of moisture in underground works put at stake hydro-mechanical coupling effects in the rock mass demonstrated by the appearance of tensile stress induced by a desiccation in a dessaturated zone near the gallery. The rheological model used is non-linear isotropic and poroelastic so the capillary curve and the relative liquid permeability functions are responsible of the non-linear feature of the model. A sensitivity study is performed on hydric transfer parameters of the model to analyze hydro- mechanical coupling effects due to dessaturation in deep shale.
