ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: Theoretical strengths of a granite under dynamic uniaixal compressive load are obtained through a micromechanical model. The model is based on interacting sliding cracks uniformly distributed in rock materials. It is shown that the theoretical strengths of the granite increase with increasing strain rate and agree well with the experimental results.
