ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: The determination of rock permeability is of great concern to petroleum engineers, because of its direct relation to oil production. However, the data for experimental determination of stress-dependent permeability are rare due to the difficulties in designing, setting up and performing such tests, even controlled laboratory environment. In this paper, results from laboratory experiments are presented relating permeability to loading conditions. The results indicate that there exists a strong coupling between the stress changes and permeability variations.
