ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Support system of rockmass arid rockbolts is considered to consist of three types of different constituent materials which are rockmass, rockblts and cement mortar. In order 10 study overall elastic properties of this support composite material (SCM), an equivalent homogeneous elastic model of orthorhombic layers is established by making use of conditions of force equilibrium, deformation compatibility and equal stored strain energies. This equivalent model of layers is applied not only to predict equivalent elastic properties of support composite material (SCM) in a defferential volume element, but also to obtain equivalent elastic behaviour of SCM in integral forms in a representative volume element. Expressions and computations for equivalent properties of SCM are given in terms of elastic properties of constituent materials, spatial and geometrical arrangements of rockbolts, etc..
